Four Generations

Great grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter.

We are truely blessed to have been able to take this photo.

L is surrounded by women who each bring a new perspective to her care from their lives.

Her great grandmother grew up during the Second World War and remembers sheltering under the table during air raids. She grew up to be an art teacher. She has knitted L clothes and spoils her with Mini Boden.

Her grandmother was born in East London, the same hospital her father was born in twenty odd years later. She grew up in Suffolk and to be a nurse. She has traveled from Suffolk to London at least once a week since L was born starting with a mad dash during my more complicated than expected delivery.

Her mother was born in Suffolk before moving to London and growing up to be a teacher. She calls on her mother and grandmother for advice caring for her most prescious thing. And aspires to match her mothering role models.

And now L. She was born in London and will grow up to be what ever she wants and desires. She has the world at her feet and is surrounded by these inspiring, caring, supportive women who not only help and love her, but help and love her mother to be the best mum she can be.

  2. What a wonderful post Rhiannon and how incredible to get a photograph of 4 generations. L really does have a group of inspiring women around her - including her Mummy of course. Suffolk is a fabulous part of the world, my in-laws live there - and we used to live in SE London! Thank you so much for sharing with #whatsthestory, just fabulous.

    1. Haha small world! I love how green it is here in SE London and after living in Suffolk it feels likes being back in a village but 20 mins from Central London! Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. Xxx
